TVOP Thursday Night Hike

Summer is just about over! Join me for this journey through water on a “trail” that is literally in the river through the Oneonta Gorge. 1 mile hike round trip. Meet me at the trailhead at 6pm. Parking is limited. Email me to carpool! WATER SHOES ARE A MUST! Can be old sneakers too. Anything you don’t mind getting wet. Bring dry clothes and towel for post hike. Please RSVP: firstname.lastname@example.org.
First Friday Launch // Drôle de Monsieur FW17
6:00 PM · MACHUS
New line + drinks + music. Join us as we launch Drôle de Monsieur’s FW17 collection. MACHUS opened in 2011 in the centrally located Lower East Burnside neighborhood. We have a simple goal, to sell the most interesting yet wearable clothing from around the world from emerging designers.
Music at the Pond
1:00 PM · Duck Pond Cellars
Celebrate the end of summer the right way at Duck Pond Cellars! JAFCO will be keeping the crowd moving with their yacht rock style of music, from Sinatra to KISS. Enjoy a flight of Duck Pond wine or sip your favorite glass/bottle. Phat Cart, a Portland staple food truck will be on site with 4–5 of their incredible ‘Bentos’ for purchase. Let’s take advantage of this beautiful weather while we have it.
Questionable Decisions: Funky Lit Dynasty Dance Party
10:00 PM · Killingsworth Dynasty
A Vinyl DJ Night with Host DJ TrashCans, every 1st Saturday at Killingsworth Dynasty. Featuring sounds of Funk, Disco, Hip Hop, Ol School, Go Go, Soul, Trap and Dance to keep you movin’ all night long!!! Free and open to public, must be 21+.
Hurricane Harvey Fundraiser feat. Fahari
12:00 PM · Mahi Taco
As a principal, Mahi Taco has always focused on feeding people, making sure that no one is left hungry. Without kitchens or refrigerators, or pantries to go home to, many of the people of Houston and surrounding Texas area will be relying on the help of community organizations to be fed and to have clean water. All day, Mahi Taco will be donating 100% of its profit, and 100% of tips, so if you want to pitch in a little more, hand it off to us, and we will quickly send it down to a food bank in the area who needs it most. Featuring music by the talented Fahari.
Fhloston Paradigm, Amenta Abioto, Alissa DeRubeis
9:00 PM · S1
King Britt’s future forward project Fhloston Paradigm has been his focus since 2012. The inaugural full album of this project, The Phoenix, debuted on the dynamic label Hyperdub in 2014. His new album After… is the continuation of the story… ascension and polyrhythmic primal energy through unexpected process. Weaved into syncopated rhythms and dichotomies of comedic proportions, Amenta surprises and tantalizes audiences with mind-bending ideas. She brings to the music scene funky academia while skipping vocally from soul-shaking gospel to smooth jazz and then onto hip-hop rhythms wrapped in West African beats.
7:00 PM · The Ape
Come play with the Apes on improv night! There are four different shows happening, come one or all! 6pm is a free preshow Improv Jam with Michael Schoenfelder. 7pm is a showdown between two house teams: Snakemelter + Merv, with another at 8pm with Cashmere + He Said She Said. Check out Portland’s local indie teams from 9–10s. Tickets are $5 per show.
